![]() The flavor is lighter than I thought it would be given the aroma but that's OK if you consider that it's just 4.5% abv. It's lemony, orange-like, lightly appleish, subtly berry-like, and mildly piney and resinous. Then I get what seems like a watered down version of an NEIPA. First off I've noted that it's light in body. Sweetish and grainy malt supports the fruity hops and I'm eager to get into it. It's fairly bright for just being a pale ale and not an IPA. The aroma expresses notes of orange, grapefruit, and peach as well as some resins and pine. It's poured a hazy yellow-gold body beneath a two finger thick head of bright white foam. ![]() There's no other information on the label so let's see what's what. Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a "NEW ENGLAND PALE ALE" from Massachusetts at 4.5% ABV. Overall – A light and crisp session pale ale/IPA. Mouthfeel – The body is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is moderately high, both of which are good for the nature of the brew. Toward the end of the flavor transition, there is a slight loss of the sweet, and an appearance of a light lemon-lime flavor, with the mix of flavors leaving a rather crisp taste to linger on the tongue. There are some hop flavors of pine and grapefruit upfront, remaining rather constant throughout. Taste – The taste begins with a rather crisp cracker malt flavor mixed with some of the tangerine and a bit of caramel. Rounding it all out are some aromas of lemon and a touch of breadiness. Smell – The aroma is rather light, being mostly of a light tropical fruit smell mixed with some pine and grapefruit. Appearance – The beer is served a lightly hazed golden-orange color with a small head of white foam, which fades quite fast and leaves a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
